Aulis Harmaala is a visual artist. His multidiscipline work involves several different ways to catch and handle material. In recent years he has worked with paintings, assemblages, installations and participatory elements. In many works, the artist’s expression expands and becomes an instrument of direct communication and interaction. Harmaala believes that art is about observation, thinking, discussing and influencing. He was born in Ranua, Northern Finland, 1966, and currently works and lives in Helsinki, Finland.
